Binita Gupta

Binita Gupta operates out of the Bharuka Trade Centre at 44 Chandni Chowk in Kharagpur, West Bengal. Being in a trade center means there is always something going on around here. It’s a functional building, not something you’d see in a fancy travel brochure. My space is small but it has everything I need to stay busy throughout the day. There’s a lot of coming and going in this part of Kharagpur with people moving fast to get their errands done. I’ve been here for a bit now, and I’ve seen many businesses come and go, but I’m still sticking it out in my little corner. The office itself is quite basic and doesn't have much in the way of decoration. I have a simple desk, a couple of plastic chairs for anyone who visits, and a shelf full of ledgers and old documents. I don’t spend money on fancy rugs or art for the walls. I’d rather just focus on the work and keep things moving. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the noise from the other shops and the busy street outside, but I find that I work better with a bit of background noise and activity. People in Kharagpur are generally hardworking and practical, and I try to run my business the same way. There’s no big mission statement on the wall or anything like that. I just show up, do the job, and go home.
