Swarnabhumi Welfare Foundation

You can find us over on Malancha Road in Kharagpur, right across from where the Congress Office is located. We are set up at Nirmal Jain’s place. It is a busy street, especially during the middle of the day when there is a lot of noise from the market nearby. Swarnabhumi Welfare Foundation has been based here for a while now. We do not have a huge staff, just a few of us who show up and do what needs doing. The office is not anything special to look at, just a room with some chairs and a table where we handle all the foundation business. Sometimes people drop by just to talk or ask about what we are up to. We try to stay organized, but with so much going on in the neighborhood, it can get a little hectic. Kharagpur is a good place to be, even if the summers are really hot and dusty. We have our small sign out front so people do not miss the entrance. It feels more like a community spot than a corporate office, which is fine by us. We deal with whatever comes our way day by day. There is not a lot of ceremony here. We just sit down, have some water, and start on the work. It is a practical way to run things. We have been part of this street for long enough that everyone knows our faces.
