We are over in Sonadangapost, right by Kamdebpur. The office is located at Raju Seal’s place. It is a quiet village area, so it is usually very peaceful unless it is a big market day. We have got a small setup here with just the essentials we need to work. We do not believe in wasting money on things that do not actually help the people coming in. Mostly, we spend our time managing the local savings and making sure everyone’s money is recorded where it should be. It is a lot of manual work and checking things twice to be safe. We still use paper ledgers because they do not crash or lose data like computers do sometimes. The air is fresh out here, which makes the workday nice. People often walk over from the nearby houses to drop off their small payments or just to check their current balance. We know most of them by their first names and know their families too. It is a very local feel in the office. We do not wear any uniforms. Usually, I am just in a plain shirt and trousers, and my colleague might be in a regular saree. We keep it casual because that is how everyone else in the village is. If someone is having a hard time filling out the forms, we just sit with them and help. There is no pressure or big sales talk here.
