We operate out of Daldali in the Pingboni area of Paschim Medinipur. It’s a bit of a distance from the big city, which is exactly why we like it. Our company is Apurba Landwey Private Limited. We spend a lot of time dealing with land and everything that goes along with it. In a place like Midnapore, things move at a slightly different pace than they do in Kolkata. We are usually out on the road, checking out plots of land or meeting with local folks about boundaries and titles. Our office is pretty simple because we aren't in it that much. It’s mostly just a place to keep the files and have a cup of tea between site visits. We don’t have any fancy marketing materials or a polished sales pitch. We just know the local land and we know how the paperwork works in this district. Sometimes the roads are rough and it takes us longer to get somewhere than we planned, but that’s just part of life here. We’ve lived in this area for a long time, so we care about what happens to the land around here. We aren't some big outside corporation coming in; we are local people who understand the soil and the people. We just try to be fair and keep our word when we make a deal. It’s a basic way of doing business, but it has served us well so far. We just do things the local way.
