Uniform India Foundation

Uniform India Foundation is over in Barbahala, Mecheda. We operate out of Soumya Sahu’s place. It’s a straightforward setup. We chose Mecheda because it’s where we live and we know the people here. Our work is pretty simple. We look at ways to help out in the community, mostly focusing on things that need fixing or people who need a bit of support. We don't have a huge team or anything. It’s just a few of us who decided we wanted to do something more than just our regular jobs. We spend a lot of time in the office, which is really just a converted room with some computers and a lot of files. People drop by whenever they see the door open. We don't have strict hours; if we're there, we're working. It’s not a polished operation. Sometimes the printer breaks or we run out of pens, but we keep going. We like the fact that we can see the results of what we do right on our own street. It makes the long hours worth it. We aren't trying to be the biggest foundation in India, just a helpful one for Mecheda. That’s enough for us. We also help out with the local youth sports when we can, mostly just providing some basic equipment or snacks during the games. It’s not much but the kids seem to like it. Being around for the neighbors is what matters most.
