We are located in Haldia, specifically in the Basudevpur area near Khanjanchak. Our business is all about making sweets and snacks. It is a very hands-on kind of job. The kitchen is always the busiest place in the building and it stays warm because of the big stoves we use. You can usually smell the sugar or the spices from the street before you even walk inside. We make things in large batches using big metal pots and frying pans. It is a family-type environment here even though we have a formal name. We have some workers who have been with us since we started, and they know the recipes by heart. We do not use many machines, so a lot of the work is done by hand. The shop part of the building gets a lot of visitors in the evening when people are looking for something to eat on their way home. We pack everything into simple bags and try to keep things moving quickly. Haldia is an industrial town, so we see a lot of workers coming by. We try to keep the place tidy, but when you are working with flour and oil all day, it is a constant job. We just focus on making snacks that people enjoy eating and keeping the business running smoothly.
