Madan Mohan Nidhi Limited is tucked away in Baligeria, which is a small part of Chatla in East Midnapore. Our office is actually at Matilal Nayak’s house. It’s a very local setup, right in the heart of the village area. You won’t find any elevators or fancy lobbies here. It’s just a ground-floor room with some basic furniture where we sit and manage the books. The roads around Baligeria can be a bit rough during the monsoon, but we are always here. People from the village know us well. It’s a quiet life in East Midnapore, and we like it that way. We started this because we wanted something local. Every morning, we open up the shutters, sweep the floor, and get ready for the day. There’s a lot of green around the office, which is a nice change from the dusty main roads. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. Word just travels around the village. If someone needs to find us, they just ask for Matilal’s place. It’s a simple way of doing things, very honest and straightforward. We spend a lot of time drinking tea and looking over registers. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we do. The post office in Chatla is just a short walk away. Sometimes we have to wait for the mail to arrive before we can finish the afternoon's tasks, but we don't mind the wait much.
