Anwesha Rice And Flour Mill is situated in the village of Charmondal, near Naldugri. It’s a quiet spot compared to the big cities. We work out of the space provided by Ambarish Biswas. Running a mill means there is always a bit of dust in the air and the sound of machinery in the background. It is not the kind of place where you wear a suit to work. We spend most of our time dealing with grain and making sure the flour is processed right. The village life suits us just fine. People from the surrounding areas know where we are when they need their rice or flour sorted. We don't have a website or a big fancy office. It’s just the mill and a small area for keeping the books. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just how things go here. The local roads are narrow, so getting the big sacks moved around takes some planning. It is hard work and our hands usually have some flour on them by the end of the day.
