Down in Raja Bolaram Village, the factory stays pretty loud with the sound of the cutters and the folders going. Making cartons is one of those jobs where you’re always surrounded by stacks of brown cardboard. It’s Vivala Cartons, and we’ve been at this spot for a good bit now. The village is quiet but our shed is usually humming. We spend most of the day measuring out sheets and making sure the glue machines don't get clogged up. It’s a lot of heavy lifting, moving those big rolls of paper around. Sometimes the dust from the paper gets everywhere, but you get used to it after the first week. We don't have a big fancy storefront or anything, just the workspace where the real stuff happens. Usually, someone is making tea in the back around four o’clock, which is the best part of the day. The trucks come down the narrow roads to pick up the finished boxes, and sometimes it's a tight squeeze getting them turned around. We just focus on getting the orders stacked up right so they don't tip over. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Most of the people working here live nearby in Hyd or the village area, so it’s a local crew. We don’t bother with much else besides keeping the machines running and making sure the boxes are sturdy enough for whatever is going inside them.
