You can find us over in Mustafa Abad, right near the HMT area. It’s a busy neighborhood and we like the energy around here. We spend our days around the ovens, which gets pretty hot in the afternoons. We started Oven Stories because we just liked baking things that actually taste like they were made in a kitchen, not a factory. We don’t use those giant industrial machines that take the soul out of the bread. It’s just our hands and some basic tools. Sometimes a batch doesn't come out perfect, and we just have to start over. That’s just part of the process. We don't have a fancy storefront with neon lights. It’s just a practical workspace where we get things done. We mostly supply to people nearby who know where we are. Our recipes aren't secret or anything, they’re just old-fashioned ways of doing things. It’s a lot of flour on our clothes and early wake-up calls. We don’t mind the long hours because seeing the dough rise is still satisfying after all this time. We aren't trying to be the biggest bakery in town, just a reliable one for the folks in HMT. If you walk by Mustafa Abad, you can usually smell what we’re up to. It’s honest work and it keeps us out of trouble. We just take it one day at a time and try to keep the ovens running smooth. It's a simple life.
