Naarisamata India Foundation

We are located in Amberpet, right on the first floor of a building in a busy street. The address is 2-2-647/85/A if you are looking for it. It's a typical Hyderabad neighborhood with lots of noise and activity outside our windows. Naarisamata India Foundation is just a small group of us trying to do some good. We don't have a huge budget. Most of our furniture was bought second-hand. We spend our days meeting with women from the local area and listening to what they need. It could be anything from help with paperwork to just needing a place to talk. We try to keep the doors open as much as we can. The stairs up to the office are a bit narrow, so you have to be careful when you come up. Inside, it's just a couple of rooms with some computers and plenty of files. We aren't corporate people. We wear regular clothes and talk like everyone else in Amberpet. Sometimes we have meetings that go late into the evening because there is always something more to finish. We don't promise anything fancy. We just try to be a reliable place for people in the community. It’s hard work but it feels right to be doing it here in our own neighborhood. We’ve been here for a bit now and people are starting to know who we are. It’s just about being there and helping out when the situation comes up.
