Our factory is at Plot No.6 B, Phase-1 of the Ida in Patancheru. If you’re looking for us, we’re right near the petrol bunk, which makes it easy to give people directions. Patancheru is a heavy industrial area, so there’s always a lot of noise from the nearby plants, but that’s just the way it is here. We’ve been at this plot for several years now. The workspace is mostly open, with different machines set up for whatever we happen to be making that week. It’s not the cleanest place in the world—there’s always some metal shavings or oil on the ground—but we try to sweep up at the end of every shift. We have a small team of workers who have been with us for a long time. We don’t really have many formal meetings; usually, we just talk over things while we’re working. The office is just a tiny room in the front where we keep the paperwork and the phone. Sometimes the power goes out in the Ida, which slows us down, but we just pick up where we left off once it’s back. It’s a lot of physical work and sometimes it gets exhausting, but we like the routine of it. We just focus on getting the orders out and making sure everything is built the way it is supposed to be. There is always something to fix or clean, so we stay pretty active all day long.
