Surya Teja Kirana Store

Over at 39652, Veera Reddy Colony, our little shop sits on a corner in Ameenpur. It’s a pretty standard kirana store, the kind you see everywhere in Miyapur. We have sacks of rice sitting near the front and shelves filled with all the usual stuff people need at home. The counter has some scratches on it from years of use. We don’t really do any big decorations or anything like that. Most of our day is spent weighing out things or handing back change to neighbors. It gets a bit dusty because the road outside is always busy with bikes and cars. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit there in the dark for a bit until it comes back. We know most of the people who come in by their faces even if we don't know all their names. It’s not a very big space, so things can get a little crowded when more than three people are inside. We keep a ledger on the desk to write things down. It’s just honest work we do here in the colony. The sun hits the front window pretty hard in the afternoons, so it gets quite warm inside. We’ve been at this spot for a while now and we just keep going day after day. It’s a simple life running a shop for the neighborhood folks.
