Vasavi Rice Oil Mill

You can find us at Plot No. 20/64, which is right near the Cattlemarket. Being that close to the market means it’s always busy around here, especially in the mornings. We run the rice and oil mill every day, so there’s usually a lot of noise from the machines. It’s a dusty job, and we end up with oil on our clothes by noon, but that’s just how it is. We take the grain and process it, then handle the oil extraction side of things too. The smell of the husks and the pressed oil is something you never really lose. It’s a practical setup we have, focused on getting the throughput right. Sometimes the equipment breaks down and we have to spend half a day fixing a belt or a motor. The neighbors near the cattle market are used to the trucks coming and going. We don’t have a fancy front desk or a waiting room. Most people just pull up their transport and we get to work loading or unloading the bags. It’s physical work and the days are long, especially during the harvest season when everyone wants their rice processed at the same time. We’ve stayed in this same spot for years because it works for the farmers. It's just a regular mill doing regular work for the community.
