Teja Plastic /Ida Bollaram

Our place, Teja Plastic, sits right in the middle of the IDA Bollaram area at Sy No 172 Plot No 136B. If you know this area, you know it is all about industry and getting things manufactured. The noise of the neighboring plants is constant, but you get used to it after a week or two. We spend our days around the plastic molding machines. It stays quite warm inside the building because of the heaters we use to melt the raw material. It’s a very straightforward operation. We get the bags of pellets in, we process them, and then we stack the finished items in the corner. Sometimes the orders are big and we stay late to finish them. Other days are slower and we spend time cleaning the floors or maintaining the molds. There is no air conditioning, just some big fans that move the hot air around. We mostly hire people from the surrounding neighborhoods who can walk or bike here. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most people find us just by driving through the IDA or through word of mouth. The office is just a small desk in the corner of the warehouse where we keep the ledger. It’s a noisy, busy life here in Bollaram, but we like the routine of making something tangible every single day. We just try to keep the machines running and the floor swept.
