Hyderabad Rock Sand Unit- Iii

This is our third unit, and we set it up out in Lakdaram Village, which is part of the Patancheru Mandal. You can find us at Survey Number 738. This area is mostly industrial, so there are a lot of trucks and heavy equipment moving around all the time. At Hyderabad Rock Sand Unit- Iii, we spend our time dealing with heaps of rock and crushed sand. The noise from the crushers can be pretty loud, so we usually have to shout to hear each other when we’re standing near the machines. It’s a dusty environment and everything we own seems to have a thin layer of grey grit on it. We don't have a fancy reception area or anything like that. People just drive in and talk to whoever is near the gate. The work is repetitive but it has to be done right or the sand doesn't come out the way it should. We watch the conveyor belts and make sure nothing gets stuck or breaks down. Patancheru is a busy place for construction supplies, so there is always someone coming or going. We stay busy from Monday to Saturday, and Sundays are usually for maintenance and cleaning up the worst of the mess. It’s honest work and we’ve gotten used to the pace of things here. The village is right down the road, so we get our supplies and lunch from the small shops nearby.
