A1 Store

You can find A1 Store at 256/148-5 on Raipally Road, right in the Patel Colony section of Narayankhed. We are a straightforward shop. We don’t try to be anything other than a place where you can get your basic necessities without much fuss. The building is a simple concrete structure, and we’ve painted the front a few times, but the dust from Raipally Road always finds its way back onto the walls. Inside, it’s mostly just rows of goods and a small counter where we sit. Narayankhed is a place where people know each other, so a lot of our time is spent talking about the weather or the local news while we weigh out items. We don't have a fancy barcode system. Everything is priced by hand or just remembered. It can get a bit hectic on market days when everyone comes into town at once. The shelves are made of sturdy wood that my uncle put up years ago, and they hold a lot of weight. We try to keep things in some kind of order, but by the end of a busy Tuesday, the place usually looks like a bit of a mess. We just clear it up the next morning and start over. It’s a living, and it keeps us connected to the folks in Patel Colony. No one here is in a huge rush, which is fine by us. Sometimes we run out of change, so we have to ask neighbors to help.
