Spandana Microfinance

We are set up at Walliganj in Unit-3, over in the Bhanjpur area of Baripada. It is a pretty central spot in the Mayurbhanj district of Orissa. For those of us working at Spandana Microfinance, the day usually starts early before it gets too hot outside. Our office is tucked into the 757002 pin code area. It’s a functional space, nothing too elaborate or modern. We have been here for quite a while now, and the neighbors all know where we are. Dealing with the work here means we have people coming in and out throughout the day. We spend a lot of time sitting at our desks, counting things, and filling out ledgers by hand. It can get a bit noisy when the office is full of people, but that’s just how it goes in a busy spot like Bhanjpur. We don't have any of those corporate mission statements or fancy posters on the walls. It is mostly just calendars and notes we’ve pinned up for ourselves. We try to keep things moving along so nobody is waiting too long in the heat. It’s just a regular job for us, and we take it one day at a time. The building is simple and serves its purpose for the work we do. If you're looking for us, we’re right there in Walliganj, just like always, with our old files and the hum of the fan.
