Shikshya Foundation

Shikshya Foundation is based out of Baripada, right at Plot No 1217/1460 in Damdarpur. Mayurbhanj is a big place, but we’ve settled into this particular corner of Orissa. We’ve been at this address for a bit now, and it suits us just fine. It’s a simple setup. You won't find any glass buildings or people in fancy suits here. Most of the time, we’re just dealing with daily tasks and talking to the neighbors. The 757003 area is where we spend the bulk of our time. We started this because we saw a real need in the local area. It wasn't anything too complicated in our minds. We just felt like we should be doing something helpful for the folks around us. Most of us live nearby, so the commute is just a short walk or a bike ride down the road. The office gets a bit dusty because of the traffic on the main road, but we don't mind much. We’ve got a couple of rooms where we keep our files and meet people. It’s a practical space, nothing more. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoons, so we just sit outside on the steps and wait for it to come back. Life in Baripada is slow, and we’ve grown to like it that way. We aren't looking to expand or become a huge name. We just want to keep things running right here in Damdarpur. People know where to find us if they need anything. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
