Thiru Gnanasambandar Foundation

Down on Mahadhana Street in Mayiladuthurai, you can find us at 67/128. That’s where Thiru Gnanasambandar Foundation is set up. Mayiladuthurai is a place with a lot of tradition, and we like being right in the middle of it on this street. The building we are in is quite old, but it has a lot of character. We didn’t want to move to a modern office because this place feels like it belongs to the town. Inside, the walls are a bit dusty and we have stacks of papers everywhere. We do our best to stay organized, but sometimes the work just piles up. We focus on various local initiatives. It’s not the kind of work that gets you on the news, but it’s important to the people who live nearby. We have a few staff members who have been with us since the beginning. We mostly drink coffee and work through the list of things that need to be finished. The street outside is usually busy with people going to the shops or the temple. We like the noise; it makes us feel connected to the town. We don't have a website with flashy photos or anything like that. If people want to know what we are doing, they usually just stop by and ask us. It’s a simple way of doing things, and it works for us. We just keep plugging away at our tasks every day.
