New Janatha Soda Company

We are located at Shop Number 1/25 on Sannathi Street. Thirumarugal is a small place and everyone pretty much knows where Sannathi Street is. We run the New Janatha Soda Company from this little shop. It’s a simple setup with the gas cylinders and the glass bottles. You can hear the 'pop' of the soda caps all day long. It gets very busy in the summer months when the heat is high and people are looking for something cold and fizzy. We don’t have a big factory or anything, just our shop where we do the filling. Often, you’ll see crates of empty bottles stacked up out front waiting to be cleaned and refilled. We’ve been here for a while and we’ve seen the street change quite a bit, but the shop stays mostly the same. We do our own maintenance on the carbonation machine because it’s old and needs a bit of care. It’s hard work on the arms, lifting those crates all day, but it keeps us fit. We like chatting with the locals who stop by for a drink. There’s no fancy labels or big brand names here, just good soda made right in the village. We try to keep the prices fair so everyone can afford a bottle. If you walk down Sannathi Street, you can’t miss us, we are usually the ones with the most noise and the most crates piled up by the entrance.
