Mech-Tech Engineering

Our workshop, Mech-Tech Engineering, is situated at 1/19 Renganathapuram in the Thirumananchery area. We are part of the Kuthalam Taluk in Nagapattinam, which is a place with a lot of history and a slower pace of life than the big cities. Tamil Nadu has many small engineering shops like ours, but we take pride in the specific mechanical parts we handle here. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a sturdy place where we keep the lathes and the welding equipment. We get a lot of grease on our hands most days, and that's fine by us. There are a few of us who have been working together for years, so we don't need many meetings to know what needs to be done next. The road outside can get muddy when it rains, and sometimes we have to wait a bit for supplies to arrive from the bigger towns, but we always manage. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you'll probably find us near the back machines or checking a blueprint on a wooden table. It’s honest work and it keeps the lights on. We know the local farmers and the small factory owners around Nagapattinam quite well. They come to us because we know how to fix things without making a big fuss about it. We just do the engineering work that’s required and keep moving forward one day at a time.
