Shanthu Bricks

Shanthu Bricks is located right at Shanti Bhavan in Parumala village. If you know the Mavelikara area, you probably know how it is around here in Alappuzha district. It is a quiet place most of the time, except when we have the machinery running. We spend most of our days out in the yard dealing with the clay and the heat. It’s messy work, and your clothes usually end up covered in dust by lunch. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a while now. The village life suits us just fine. We don’t have those polished corporate offices you see in the bigger cities. Instead, we have a desk, some chairs, and a lot of bricks stacked up. It gets quite rainy during the monsoon season, which usually slows things down a bit, but we find ways to keep busy. Most of the people working here live just a short walk away. We know our neighbors and they know us. We don’t do much advertising. Usually, someone just stops by Shanti Bhavan because they saw the sign or heard we were working on a batch. We just focus on getting the bricks out and keeping the yard organized. It’s honest work and it keeps us on our feet. We like being a small part of the local community here in Parumala. Every day is pretty much the same, but that is okay by us. We stay busy and don't worry about much else.
