M S D Polytechinc College sits right on the Azamgarh Road here in Dohari Ghat. It’s a busy spot in Mau. We’ve been running things for a while now, mostly focusing on the technical side of things that kids need to find work these days. The building is pretty straightforward, nothing too fancy, but it gets the job done for our classes and the labs we have set up. You’ll usually see students hanging around the gate between their sessions or heading off toward the main road to catch a bus home. It gets dusty outside with all the traffic passing by toward Dohari Ghat, but inside the classrooms, it’s mostly just the sound of lectures and students trying to figure out their practical work. We have a lot of local folks coming here from the surrounding villages and towns in the district. It’s not always easy keeping everything running perfectly, especially when the power acts up or we’re waiting on new supplies for the workshops, but we manage somehow. The staff here are mostly local people too, so everyone kind of knows each other. We don't really do the big corporate style of teaching; it’s more about sitting down and getting through the syllabus so the students can actually pass their exams and move on to something better. It’s a bit of a trek for some who come from further out in Mau, but the Azamgarh Road is usually busy enough that there’s always a way to get here.
