Sitaram Preservators India Private Limited is located at 48 Salempur, right on Sonkh Road in Mathura. It is a good spot because we are close enough to the farms but also have the road right there for the trucks. We mostly deal with keeping things fresh. Cold storage is a tough business because you have to watch the temperature every single hour. If the power fluctuates, which happens sometimes in this part of Uttar Pradesh, we have to jump on it immediately. It is not a job where you can just sit at a desk and forget about things. We are always on our feet, checking the insulation or moving pallets around. The building itself is big and functional. We didn't spend much on making the outside look pretty because the inside is what matters for the produce. People around Mathura know us as the place where they can bring their harvests so they don't spoil. It is a lot of responsibility, taking care of someone else’s hard work. We have a small crew, mostly guys from the nearby villages who know their way around a cold room. We don't do much talking or marketing. Word just spreads from one farmer to another. It’s a necessary job, and we’ve been doing it at this same address for a good while now. It's just plain, honest work. We keep the machines running and the goods cold, and that is our day.
