Shiva Motors

Our shop is situated in the village of Lohai, which is part of the Mant Tehsil in Mathura district. It is a very rural area, so things move a bit slower out here than they do in the big cities. We deal with motors and machinery, which means we usually have grease under our fingernails and oil on our clothes by the time noon rolls around. Being in a village means we know everyone who comes by. People stop in not just for help with their engines, but often just to chat or tell us what is happening in the fields. We don't have a showroom with bright lights. It is more of a practical workshop with tools hanging on the walls and spare parts piled up in the corners. The dust from the roads in Mathura is always finding its way inside, so we are constantly dusting off the benches. It is honest work, and it can be quite tiring when you are leaning over a hot engine in the middle of July. We don't have a lot of fancy equipment, but we have the experience to know what is wrong just by listening to the sound a motor makes. Sometimes we don't have the right part in stock and have to wait for a delivery from the city, which can take a day or two. The folks around here understand how it is. We just try to keep things running for everyone in the village.
