Our place is out near the highway at Plot 2882, right by the Batahin Gate on NH-2. Being so close to the main road means there is always a lot of dust and the sound of big trucks passing by. Ram Company isn't a place for people looking for a quiet boutique. It’s a practical site where we handle our daily business. We have a big gate that stays open most of the day to let the transport vehicles in and out. The yard is large, and we use every bit of it for storage and moving things around. Sometimes the sun beats down pretty hard on the open ground, and we all head for the shade of the main shed. We don’t have a lot of decorations or anything like that. The walls are just painted brick and the furniture is old but sturdy. Most of our day is spent checking inventories or talking to drivers who are stopping through. It’s a good spot for us because the highway makes it easy to move stuff, even if the traffic gets backed up sometimes. We keep a kettle going for tea and there is always a bit of grease or dirt on our hands. It’s just the way things are when you’re working near the gate. We’ve been here long enough that the highway noise doesn’t even wake us up if we’re taking a break.
