You can find Dixcon Engineering at 3-4, Pankaj Market on Sonkh Road. We've got two units there, which gives us enough room for our benches and the bigger machines. Sonkh Road is always busy with trucks and bikes, so it can get pretty loud outside. Inside, it’s mostly the sound of grinders and drills. We do a lot of repair work for people in the market and around the area. It’s not the cleanest job; we’ve always got grease on our clothes and metal shavings in our hair. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name on the shutter. Most of our work comes from people who have been coming to us for years. We aren't really into the corporate side of things; we just like to fix stuff and make parts that work. Some days we are swamped with small jobs, and other days we're working on one big piece of machinery for hours. We drink our chai on the bench while waiting for the metal to cool down. The shop can get a bit cluttered with scrap metal and old parts we might need later. It’s a practical place for people who need things built or fixed. We just do our best with what we have and keep the doors open for whoever needs help on Sonkh Road. It’s noisy and greasy, but it’s our trade.
