Kalyan Silver (Kn Payal)

Kalyan Silver, or Kn Payal as some people call us, is located right in the heart of Chowk Bazar. It is a very old part of the city and it stays crowded from early morning until late at night. We specialize in silver items, particularly payals that families buy for special occasions. The shop is tiny and filled with the sound of the market outside. We don't have a lot of room for fancy displays, so we keep most of our items in small wooden drawers or behind the glass counter. The glass is a bit foggy from age, but the silver inside still shines. We are a family-run place and we don't have any employees from outside. My father started this years ago and he still likes to come in and sit by the door. We don't use a lot of marketing tricks or try to push people to buy more than they need. People come to us because they know we are honest about the weight and the quality. We drink a lot of tea with the other jewelers in the lane. It’s a very traditional way of doing business. We don't have a computer in the shop. We do all our math on a small pad of paper. It’s just how we’ve always done things here.
