Our place is called Brij Art Gallery and we are located at Kishor Bam in Vrindavan. Being so close to Loi Bazar means there is always something going on nearby. It’s a spiritual kind of place, and we’ve been here long enough that we don't really notice the bells and the chanting anymore, it just feels like home. The gallery isn't huge, but it's enough for what we have. We keep things simple inside. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, so we spend a fair bit of time just cleaning the frames and the floor. It’s mostly just a few of us here. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. If someone walks in, we just talk to them like normal. It gets very busy during festival times, and sometimes it's hard to even walk down the street outside because of the pilgrims and the local traffic. We just try to keep the doors open and the lights on. Sometimes the electricity goes out, which is common in this part of town, so we just wait it out or use a torch if we really have to. We focus on the art we have and making sure it stays in good shape. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the market is peaking. We don’t do anything fancy, just run the shop and take care of the pieces we have on the walls. There's usually a stray dog sitting by the door and we don't mind it much.
