Ashraf & Co.

Ashraf & Co. is our small business and our shop is at No. 9, 418 Mavanalla Po, which is up in the Nilgiri district. It’s a beautiful place, but the roads are winding and can be a bit tricky if you aren't used to them. We are based near Masinagudi. The weather is usually cooler than the plains, which is nice for working. We aren't a huge corporation; just a local business handling what needs to be done. Often, it’s quiet enough to hear the birds, unless a jeep is passing by. We deal with various goods that the local people need. The building is simple, made of stone and wood mostly. We have a few staff members who live nearby and walk to work. Some days we get tourists stopping by asking for directions. We just help them out and get back to our inventory. It’s a lot of manual work, moving stuff around and checking the stock. There isn't any high-tech equipment here. We rely on our hands and a few old ledgers. It gets dark pretty early in the hills, so we try to finish up before the mist rolls in. It’s a slow pace of life compared to the big cities, but we prefer it that way. We just keep the doors open and do our bit for the community here in Mavanalla. It’s a good way to live, being surrounded by the mountains and the trees.
