Medagum Rice Mill

Medagum Rice Mill is over on Darsi Road in Mundlamuru. You can’t miss it because of the sound of the machines running. It’s a 1-9-874 address if you are looking for the exact spot. The whole place usually smells like raw grain and dust. It’s a tough job keeping everything clean, but we try our best with the brooms every evening. We get a lot of farmers coming in with their loads. They usually park their tractors out front and we have to move things around to make room. The heat inside the mill can be something else during the summer months. We drink a lot of water and keep the big doors open for whatever breeze comes off Darsi Road. It’s mostly family and a few local guys from Mundlamuru working here. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the sign out front. Sometimes the machinery breaks down and we have to spend half the day fixing a belt or cleaning out a jam. It’s just part of the routine. We don't make a big fuss about things. The rice piles up in the sacks, and we move them to the storage area. It’s heavy work, but it keeps us busy. We've been here for a long time, and the building shows its age a bit, but it does the job just fine for us.
