Mahasing Welfare Foundation

We are located out in Bilampar, which is part of Govaamlighat in the Jagiroad area. We are set up at Mohasing Puma’s place. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here if you aren't from the area, but it’s a nice enough drive. The landscape is mostly green and it’s a lot quieter than the city. Our office is really just a room in the house where we’ve set up our computers and files. It’s a very humble setup. We don't have any fancy signage or office equipment. We use what we have and make it last. Most of the time, it’s just the sound of the birds outside and the occasional tractor passing by. We like the peace and quiet because it helps us focus on our work. We’ve been here for a while and the locals all know Mohasing. It’s a small community where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We spend our days mostly on paperwork and coordinating things locally. It’s not glamorous, but it’s honest work. We often have meetings around the kitchen table instead of a boardroom. It just feels more natural that way. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't; we're just a small group working in a quiet corner of Assam. Usually, someone has a pot of water boiling for coffee or tea when we start.
