Our office is located in Charchari Village, which is over in Diphu, Karbi Anglong. Prakash Gurung is the person who looks after things here. We have been in this area for a while now, just trying to help out where it’s needed. The village life is slow but steady, and that suits us just fine. You won't find us in a big city building with glass walls. Instead, we’re just a part of the local scene here in Assam. There are days when nothing much happens, and then other days when everyone seems to need something at once. We handle whatever comes our way. It is a bit of a drive to get out here, but it's a good place to work from. We focus on charitable work, though it doesn't always look like what you see on TV. It’s mostly small tasks and helping individual families. We don’t really go for big announcements or grand gestures. Most of the work is just being present and listening to what people in the village have to say. It can be challenging during the monsoon when the roads get muddy, but we stay put. People know where Prakash is if they need to talk. We’re just regular people trying to make things a little easier for our neighbors in this part of the world. It’s a lot of quiet effort and staying consistent even when it feels like we aren't getting anywhere fast. We like the peace and quiet of Charchari Village quite a bit.
