Prasenjit Sarkar & Co.

Over here in Kayemba village, we have been running Prasenjit Sarkar & Co. for a good number of years. We are under the Margram police station area in Birbhum district. It’s a rural spot, very quiet compared to the big cities, and that suits us just fine. Most people in the village know who we are. We don’t have a website or any of those modern things. We just have our office and our reputation among the neighbors. Dealing with the daily tasks of the business keeps us pretty busy. We handle a variety of things depending on what the local folks need. Birbhum is a beautiful place, even with the dusty roads and the heat in the summer. We’ve seen many families grow up around here while we’ve been working. It’s not a fancy operation with suits and ties. We wear our everyday clothes and we don’t mind getting our hands dirty if a job needs it. Sometimes the supplies are late because of the roads, but we just make do. People around here understand how it is. We try to be fair and just get through the work day. If you are passing through Kayemba, you might see us sitting outside the office in the evening. We are just local people trying to make a living and help out where we can. It’s a simple life and we like it here in our corner of Margram.
