Our office is in Margao, at Villa Flores Da Silva on Erasmo Carvalho Street. It’s a beautiful old building, the kind you only see in this part of Goa. We’ve got a P.O. Box, number 31, if anyone still sends letters that way. The street is usually quiet, with a few people walking by or some scooters zooming past. Inside, the rooms have high ceilings which keeps it a bit cooler, though we still need the fans. It’s an industrial company, so there’s a lot of talk about mining and logistics. We have our files stacked up in heavy cabinets. The atmosphere is quite relaxed compared to the big cities, but we still have a lot of work to get through. Most of us have been working here for years, so we know each other’s families and stories. Sometimes we take a break to watch the rain from the balcony. It’s a nice change from the usual office blocks. We don’t have a lot of fancy tech, just the stuff we need to stay connected and do our jobs. The furniture is heavy and dark, and the floors are easy to clean. We just keep things moving at a steady pace. It’s a good spot to spend the day, even when the work gets a little repetitive. Margao is a busy town, but our little corner feels like it belongs to another time. We like the history of the place and the old wooden doors.
