Our place is down in the Verna Industrial Estate in Goa. Specifically, we’re at Plot No A62 64. People usually think of Goa as just beaches and holidays, but back here in Verna, it’s all about manufacturing and hard work. We deal with fiber optics, which is a lot more technical and delicate than people realize. The humidity here can be a real pain for the equipment, so we have to keep the climate control running all the time. The industrial estate is huge, and it’s a bit of a drive from the main towns, but it’s where all the action is. The canteen food is okay, but most of us bring our own lunch. We spend our time checking cables and making sure the production lines aren’t hitting any snags. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but it has to be done precisely. The office part of the building is pretty plain, just some desks and a lot of filing cabinets. We aren't much for decorating. Most of the staff has been here for years, so we’re like a big, grumpy family. Sometimes we get monkeys coming near the site, which is a bit of a distraction. Other than that, it’s just about hitting the numbers and making sure the quality is where it needs to be before anything leaves the gate. It's a long day, but we get it done.
