Stenodac Institute Of Fashion Designing And Garment Technology

Our institute is located on the second floor of Cruz Mansion, right near Lohia Maidan. It is a lively spot to be in, especially with the Maidan being so close. When you walk up to room 201, you will usually hear the sound of sewing machines running. We have been teaching fashion and garment tech here for a while. The rooms are filled with mannequins, cutting tables, and scraps of colorful fabric on the floor. It is a practical place. We often have tea breaks where we talk about the latest styles we saw in the market. It is a very hands-on way to spend the day. We don't spend much time on theory because we want people to actually learn how to make things with their hands. Students are always busy sketching or trying to figure out a difficult seam. It can get a bit messy when everyone is working on a project at the same time, but that is how you learn. We have big windows that look out, but we are mostly focused on what is on the tables. It is not a corporate school with uniforms and strict rules. We are more relaxed than that. People come here to gain a skill, and we do our best to show them how it is done. Sometimes we run out of thread or a needle breaks, and we just deal with it. Being in Cruz Mansion feels like being part of the history of this area.
