Shree Laxmi Marble

Shree Laxmi Marble is based out in Salcete, not too far from the Navelim Church. If you live around here, you know the spot well. Dealing with stone and marble is heavy, dusty work, but it’s what we’ve been doing for years. Our yard is full of different slabs leaning against each other. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know exactly what we have in stock. The Goa weather can be tricky, either too hot or raining so hard we have to cover everything up quickly. We spend a lot of time walking around the yard with customers, showing them the patterns and the colors. It’s a lot of physical labor, lifting and moving things, so we’re usually pretty tired by the end of the day. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. People usually find us by word of mouth or because they passed the church and saw our sign. We try to be fair with everyone who comes in. Sometimes we sit in the small office area and have a cold drink when the sun is too much. It’s a simple life running a marble shop. We aren't looking to become some massive corporation; we just like providing the material for people's homes and seeing the finished results. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy through the seasons.
