If you go to Upper Bazar in Ponda, you will find us right opposite the Vijaya Bank. Mahalsa Driving School has been helping people in Goa get behind the wheel for a long time now. Driving in Ponda can be a bit of a challenge with the narrow streets and the cows that decide to sit in the middle of the road. I spend most of my day in the passenger seat of a car with a second set of pedals under my feet. It can be a bit stressful when a student forgets which one is the brake, but you get used to it after a few years. The office is just a small room where we keep the learner permits and the logbooks on a shelf. It is usually got an old calendar on the wall and a few chairs for people waiting their turn for a lesson. I wear comfortable shoes because I am in and out of the car all day in the sun. We talk to the students about the rules and how to handle the clutch without stalling out at the lights. It is rewarding when someone finally gets their license after being nervous for weeks. We aren't a big corporate school, just a local place where we know the traffic police and the best roads for practicing. Sometimes we stop for a quick snack at the market if there is a gap between the lessons.
