Sundaram Fasteners Ltd.

We've been at Plot No. B32 in the Sipcot Industrial Estate for a while now. This is the Autolec Division of Sundaram Fasteners Ltd. If you walk around here, it’s mostly the sound of machines and people getting things done. We make various parts that go into cars and other machinery. It’s not a fancy place, just a standard industrial setup where we try to keep things moving. Most of us here have been doing this for years. We know the machines pretty well. Every morning starts with checking the schedules and making sure the supplies are ready. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially near the forging areas. We have a lot of stuff going out on trucks daily. The estate is always busy with traffic, so we try to time our deliveries right. Sometimes things go smooth, other times a machine acts up and we spend the afternoon fixing it. That’s just how it goes in a factory. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. People just come to the side gate and talk to the security or the floor manager. We deal with a lot of metal and grease. It's a lot of work keeping everything organized. We mostly focus on getting the orders out on time because that's what matters. Most of the staff live nearby, so it’s a local crowd. We just keep our heads down and do the work we're supposed to. Our walls could use a new coat of paint, but the machines work fine.
