Srikant Engg Works

Our shop, Srikant Engg Works, is located at No. 17/3 in Nagavalli Amman Nagar. Being so close to NH 3 here in Maraimalai Nagar means there is always the sound of traffic and big trucks in the background. It mostly blends in with the sound of our own grinders and welding machines. We’ve been in this spot for a few years, and the building has its own quirks, like the side door that always sticks when it’s humid out. It’s not a large place by any means, but we manage to fit everything we need inside. The walls are a bit stained from the oil and the smoke, which is normal for a place like this. We don't have a secretary or anyone to answer the phones, so if we're busy with a machine, it might take a minute to get to the door. Most of our day is spent looking at blueprints or checking measurements with a caliper. It’s quiet work in a way, even with all the noise around us. People around Maraimalai Nagar know where we are located. We don't do much advertising because there’s enough work just coming through the gate from people we know. We have a small wooden bench where we take our lunch, usually just something simple brought from home in a tiffin. It’s straightforward work, making parts that go into bigger machines. We don't worry about being fancy, we just worry about getting the dimensions right so the customer doesn't have to come back twice to fix it. We just work hard.
