This place is quite big, stretching across several plots from F-70 to 81 in the Sipcot Industrial Park. Kanchipuram gets very hot, and inside the factory, it feels even warmer with all the machinery running. We spend most of our time on our feet, moving between the different sections where the glass is handled. There is a lot of noise from the cutters and the cooling systems. Everyone wears their safety gear, which is a bit heavy but necessary. The floors are concrete and kept as clean as possible so nobody slips on any small fragments. It is a very structured environment because of the way the glass has to be moved. We see a lot of trucks coming in and out of the park every hour. The canteen is where most of us catch a break and talk about things other than work. It is not like a small shop where you can just relax; here, there is always a schedule to follow. Sometimes the shifts feel long, especially when the orders are piled up, but we just get on with it. The industrial park itself is a bit far from the main town, so it is mostly just us and the other factories around here. We have a lot of different people working here from all over, so you hear different languages in the corridors throughout the day.
