Out here in the Tivim Industrial Estate, it’s all about the daily grind. Geno Pharmaceuticals is based in the complex in Karaswada. It’s a busy industrial zone. You see trucks coming and going all day long. Our facility is where we spend most of our time, dealing with the production lines and the packaging. It’s not a quiet place. There is always the sound of machinery in the background. We have a lot of people working shifts to keep things running. It’s a big responsibility, making medicines. We have to be very careful with the measurements and the hygiene. The humidity in Goa can be a challenge for some of the equipment, so we are always monitoring the climate controls. We aren't a small shop; it’s a proper industrial setup. But even so, it feels like a community. We know the people at the other units in the estate. We eat our lunch together and complain about the traffic on the way to Mapusa. It’s just regular life for us. We don't spend money on fancy brochures or big speeches. We just focus on the batches we are running today. If the machines are working well and the shipments are on time, it’s a good day. We’ve been in Karaswada for a long time now and we know how the system works. It is just practical, hard work every day to keep the line moving.
