Epoxy Coat Industries

We are located at Plot No. 48 in the G.I.D.C. estate in Karasawada, Tivim. It’s a bit of a drive out into the industrial area of Goa, away from all the beaches and tourist spots. Epoxy Coat Industries is basically a big shed where we do all our coating work. It’s hot work, especially under the tin roof during the summer months, but we have some big fans that help a bit. The smell of the epoxy and the chemicals is something you just get used to after a while. We have pallets of materials sitting around and the floors are always getting scuffed up from the work we do. It’s an industrial life here in Tivim. Most of the guys live nearby and we start pretty early before the sun gets too high. There isn’t much to see around the plot besides other factories and the occasional truck backing in. We keep the paperwork in a small cabin that’s slightly cooler than the main floor. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to wait a bit, but that’s just part of being in the G.I.D.C. We don’t do much talking; we just focus on getting the layers right and making sure everything cures properly. It’s a tough job but it’s what we know how to do best here in our little corner of the estate. It's dusty and noisy, but it is our daily life.
