Khiva Rice Mills

We are based in Village & Post Khiva Kalan, not too far from Bhikhi. It’s a rural spot, surrounded by fields, which makes sense for what we do. Khiva Rice Mills is a family-run kind of place. We don’t have a big corporate structure or fancy managers. Usually, you’ll find the owner’s son or a long-time foreman managing the daily tasks. We take in the local rice and process it right here on the premises. The yard is unpaved, so it gets muddy when it rains, but we don't mind much. We’ve got a routine that works for us. The machines are loud and they need a lot of looking after. We spend our mornings checking the equipment and our afternoons dealing with the loads coming in. It’s a quiet area most of the year, but during harvest, it’s like a different world with all the activity. We don't go out looking for attention or fame. We just do our work and let the results speak. Most of the people who bring their grain to us have been doing so for decades. Their fathers brought grain to our fathers, so there's a lot of history. It’s that kind of place. We aren't looking to be the biggest, just to stay busy and keep the mill in good shape. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living out here. We eat our lunch together in the shade of the main shed when the sun gets high.
