If you walk down Nehru Park Road in Jaito, you’ll find us. Kalra Garments has been a fixture here for a long time. It’s a family-run thing. We sell clothes for kids, men, and women. The shop is usually full of stacks of shirts and folded pants. We try to keep up with what people like to wear these days, but we also keep the basic stuff that everyone needs. The front window gets a lot of sun in the afternoon, so we have to be careful about the clothes on display fading over time. We don’t have a lot of space for changing rooms, so it can get a bit tight when it’s busy. Usually, it’s just me and my sister helping out. We spend a lot of time unpacking boxes and tagging things. It’s not a high-end boutique with carpets and soft music. It’s just a regular shop where people come to buy clothes for school, work, or weddings. Some of our customers have been coming to us since they were children, and now they bring their own kids to get fitted. That makes us feel like we’re doing something right in the community. We don't do any big advertising. People just see us when they’re walking toward the park. It’s a busy little spot, and we like the rhythm of it. We just want to keep the shop going for another generation if we can and keep serving the town.
