First Helpinghands Foundation

Our little office is over in Bhagirath Colony, right near the BJP office in Mansa. It’s actually at Alka Rani’s place, which makes it feel a lot more like a home than a workplace. We call ourselves First Helpinghands Foundation because that’s what we try to do—just be the first ones to step up when someone in the colony or the wider Mansa area needs a hand. It can get pretty quiet around here, but we stay busy with the day-to-day stuff. We aren't trying to be some massive corporation with a huge marketing budget. We just live here and we know the people. Sometimes people just drop by because they know where we are. Dealing with local issues takes time, and we don’t always have all the answers right away. We just do what we can with the space we have. Mansa is a tight-knit place, and word travels fast. If someone is having a rough time, someone else usually knows about it. We try to be that connection point. It’s just us working out of a house, keeping things simple. No fancy titles or long meetings. Just practical help for the folks living in our part of Punjab. We've been here for a bit now, and we plan on staying right where we are in Bhagirath Colony.
