Janaka Jeans Clothing Company

We are located at Sarvesh Divya Garments on Cinema Road. It’s a good spot because there’s always people walking by. Janaka Jeans Clothing Company is basically what the name says. We make jeans. We have rows of heavy-duty sewing machines because denim is hard to work with. The blue dye gets everywhere. If you look at my fingernails, they’re usually a bit blue. We don’t mind. It’s a sign we’ve been busy. Cinema Road is a lively place to be. We get to hear the music from the shops and the shouting of the street vendors. Our shop is crowded with rolls of denim and finished pairs waiting to be tagged. We don’t have a fancy showroom. We just show people what we’ve finished on the big table in the middle. My brother handles the cutting while I do the stitching and the buttons. We have a couple of helpers who come in after school sometimes. We make jeans for regular folks who need something that won't rip the first time they bend over. We’ve been here for several years now. It’s not a big empire, just a small shop making clothes that people need. We like the neighborhood and the people here. It’s a good way to make a living. Usually, we keep the fans on high because it gets stuffy with all the fabric dust, but we are used to it by now. The tea here is also very good.
