K V S Computer Wood Carving

The workshop is located right on Aasadh Road, just across from the old bus stand. Being near the bus stand means there is always a lot of noise and people moving about. K V S Computer Wood Carving started because we saw how much work could be done with those computer-controlled machines. It saves a lot of time compared to doing everything by hand like we used to. There is always a layer of fine sawdust on everything, no matter how much we sweep. It gets into your hair and clothes, but that is part of the job. Most of the time, the machine is humming in the background while we check the designs on the screen. We have been at 28/1 for a few years now and most of the local people know where to find us. It isn't a large place, just enough room for the equipment and a few pieces of wood waiting to be worked on. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait around, which is frustrating but that's just life here. We drink a lot of tea while we wait. The smell of fresh cut wood is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a good smell, honestly. We don't do much talking, we just get the carvings done and hope the customers like what they see when they come to pick them up. It is a living, and it keeps us busy enough most weeks.
